Recent National Weather Service and model guidance, including GFS runs, point to a moderate high for Los Angeles on September 5 driven by persistent marine layer and morning low clouds that limit daytime heating before southwest winds clear skies in the afternoon. Ensemble forecasts cluster around upper 70s to mid-80s, aligning with the market's heaviest weighting on 80-81°F, while historical September averages near 77°F provide baseline context. Key variables include exact marine layer depth, wind strength, and any late-day shower development that could cap peaks; minor shifts in these factors could favor 78-79°F or push toward 82-83°F. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycles will refine the range ahead of resolution.
