Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a low near 56°F in San Francisco on September 5, driven by post-frontal clearing, moderate westerly onshore flow, and limited marine-layer influence after an early-week system. This places the outcome near the long-term average low of 56.1°F for the date while favoring bins such as 54–57°F over extremes. Scientific uncertainty persists around exact minimum timing, localized urban heat retention, and subtle differences between high-resolution models regarding overnight radiational cooling under mostly clear skies. Traders appear to weigh these variables evenly, with no single threshold yet commanding strong consensus ahead of updated NHC and local forecast discussions.
