Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts indicate marine layer strengthening and a 60% chance of showers with possible thunderstorms on September 6, which are expected to cap afternoon highs near 78°F at Los Angeles International Airport and similar coastal sites. Onshore flow and cloud cover from these systems typically suppress maximum temperatures by several degrees below the seasonal average of 76.5°F, while inland areas may briefly reach the low 80s before cooling. Recent days with highs of 76–78°F and minimal precipitation have reinforced trader focus on the 78–79°F bin as the most probable outcome under current atmospheric conditions. Final resolution will depend on official observations, with any unexpected clearing potentially shifting probabilities toward 80–81°F.
