Current short-range forecasts from NWS and private models converge on a Monday, September 7 high of 96–98°F for Austin under partly cloudy skies, light southerly flow, and minimal precipitation chances. This positions the market’s closely bunched leading bins (96–97°F at 25%, 98–99°F at 24.5%, 100–101°F at 24%) as trader consensus around the upper end of the seasonal envelope. Persistent subtropical high pressure and downslope warming sustain elevated readings above the 1991–2020 September 7 normal of 93°F, while modest model spread in afternoon cloud cover and boundary-layer moisture creates the observed uncertainty between the mid-90s and low-100s. Updated model runs and heat-index guidance through the weekend remain the key near-term catalysts.
