Persistent upper-level ridging over north Texas continues to drive above-normal temperatures across the Dallas area, with National Weather Service and GFS guidance consensus favoring a high of 97–99°F on September 19 under mostly clear skies, southerly flow of 5–10 mph, and low humidity that supports strong daytime heating. This setup aligns with the market’s heavy weighting toward 96–97°F (62%) and 98–99°F (31%), as the ridge’s subsidence suppresses cloud development and maintains elevated 500 mb heights. Historical September averages near 89°F underscore the anomaly, while the low odds assigned to 100°F+ reflect limited potential for further intensification before a weak front begins eroding the ridge later in the weekend.
