**Ongoing conflict and security risks continue to block civil aviation at Kyiv Boryspil Airport (KBP), despite the facility remaining technically ready for rapid reactivation.** Ukrainian airspace has stayed closed to civilian flights since February 2022 under national NOTAMs and EASA advisories, which cite active hostilities, missile and drone threats, and risks of misidentification or targeting. Boryspil infrastructure, staffing, and certifications have been preserved through dedicated maintenance programs, with a government working group established in March 2026 to prepare phased reopening plans; officials and airport leadership have stated operations could resume within weeks once security conditions allow. Recent Russian Shahed drone strikes on September 5, 2026, deliberately targeted areas near Kyiv and Boryspil ahead of a U.S. envoys’ visit, highlighting persistent vulnerabilities. Diplomatic signals, strike intensity, and any verified improvements in airspace protection or insurance clearances remain the key variables traders monitor for shifts in implied probabilities.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if at least one manned aircraft successfully lands at or takes off from Boryspil International Airport between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
Eligible flights include any manned fixed-wing aircraft or rotorcraft (helicopter), regardless of registration, owner, or purpose (e.g., commercial passenger, cargo, military transport, diplomatic or state flight, technical ferry, or emergency landing).
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, drones, or loitering munitions), touch-and-go passes without a full touchdown and stop or taxi, and landings or departures occurring outside the physical boundaries of Boryspil International Airport will not count toward the resolution of this market.
The primary resolution source will be verified radar and ADS-B flight tracking data (e.g., Flightradar24, ADS-B Exchange) and official announcements from Boryspil International Airport, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, or the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
