Marine layer intrusions and onshore flow from the Pacific are the dominant factors setting the overnight low in Los Angeles for September 2, with National Weather Service models currently indicating a shallow to moderate layer that favors minima near 62–65 °F. Recent ensemble guidance shows modest spread driven by uncertainty in boundary-layer mixing and any weak offshore wind component that could allow slightly warmer readings. Historical climatology places early-September lows around 64 °F, providing context for why probabilities cluster tightly in the low-to-mid 60s while tails below 58 °F or above 70 °F remain lower but non-negligible. Updated model runs and marine stratus forecasts through the holiday weekend will be the next key inputs for traders.
