Latest forecasts for Wellington indicate a high near 14–15°C on September 20, driven by southerly winds following a frontal system that limits daytime warming under partly cloudy skies with a 40–50% rain chance. Model consensus from sources like MetService and international guidance shows afternoon peaks in that narrow range amid typical spring variability, where southerlies suppress temperatures below recent northerly-influenced days. Trader positioning at 53.5% for 15°C and 33% for 14°C aligns with this consensus, while lower probabilities for extremes reflect the low likelihood of significant deviations from climatological norms without major forecast shifts. Updated model runs and official briefings remain key near-term catalysts.
