Georgia's 11th Congressional District carries a Cook Partisan Voter Index of R+12 and delivered an 18-point margin for the Republican presidential nominee in 2024, establishing a durable structural advantage for the party. After six-term incumbent Barry Loudermilk retired, neurosurgeon John Cowan secured the Republican nomination by winning a June 2026 primary runoff with 65 percent of the vote, unifying support behind a candidate rated as a strong conservative by party leaders. Democrat Chris Harden won his party's primary but faces the same headwinds in a district that has consistently favored Republicans by double-digit margins in recent cycles. Independent ratings from Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato's Crystal Ball all classify the seat as Solid or Safe Republican. A late scandal involving the Republican nominee, an unusually large Democratic turnout surge, or a national political shift of historic scale could narrow the gap, though no such developments have emerged since the primaries concluded.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
