Official National Weather Service observations from Houston stations recorded daily maximum temperatures of 91–92°F on September 4, 2026, aligning closely with 1991–2020 normals near 91–93°F and the market’s 90–91°F consensus. Afternoon peaks occurred amid partly to mostly cloudy skies, light winds, and scattered showers that curtailed stronger surface heating and kept values near seasonal averages rather than record territory. This skin-in-the-game trader agreement rests on verified station data and standard climatological context for early September. Revisions to preliminary reports, use of an alternate station metric, or post-event quality-control adjustments represent the primary scenarios that could shift the resolved outcome.
