Recent polling in the 2026 Georgia gubernatorial race between Republican nominee Rick Jackson and Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms shows a toss-up contest, with results clustered between 45-51% for each candidate across multiple surveys conducted from July to mid-August. This narrow spread, combined with Georgia's majority-vote requirement for an outright win and history of runoffs in tight statewide contests, underpins the near-even trader consensus on whether either candidate secures over 50% on November 3. Key influences include suburban voter shifts, turnout mobilization in metro Atlanta versus rural areas, and the impact of undecided voters or minor candidates. Late-cycle developments such as updated polling averages, major endorsements, or shifts in voter priorities on the economy and state issues could alter the balance by clarifying preference consolidation ahead of election day.
