**Andrew Clyde secured the Republican nomination in Georgia’s 9th congressional district with roughly 76 percent of the primary vote on May 19, 2026, defeating challengers Sam Couvillon and Gregg Poole.** The district, which covers much of northeast Georgia, has consistently delivered large Republican margins, including Clyde’s 69 percent victory in 2024. Democratic nominee Caitlyn Gegen emerged from her primary but faces a heavily Republican electorate where the incumbent is positioned to exceed 50 percent in the November general election. Georgia law requires a majority for an outright win; otherwise the top two advance to a runoff. Given the district’s partisan composition and Clyde’s established support, traders assign an 87.5 percent implied probability that the race concludes in the first round. No late developments or significant opposition have altered this consensus ahead of the general election.
