This aligns with the long-term August average high near 91°F and recent days featuring similar 90–94°F readings without anomalous ridging. High humidity keeps heat indices above 105°F, but scattered thunderstorms—expected to initiate after peak heating—often cap maximum temperatures by enhancing cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Updated radar trends and hourly observations through the afternoon will provide the clearest signals for whether the peak settles at 92–93°F or edges slightly higher.
