In the Laurier-Dorion riding, the 2026 Quebec general election on October 5 features a tight contest shaped by the incumbent Andrés Fontecilla of Québec solidaire facing Liberal challenger Randy Legault-Rankin, alongside candidates from the Parti Québécois, Conservative Party, and CAQ. Recent provincial polling shows the PQ leading overall, yet local projections from models like 338Canada indicate a toss-up between QS and the Liberals due to the riding's Montreal demographics and QS's strong 2022 performance. The nomination deadline of September 17 and ongoing campaign dynamics, including party positioning on key issues, sustain close trader consensus without clear separation. Late polling shifts or turnout in key voter blocs could alter the balance before election day.
