United Russia maintains its dominant position in the September 18–20, 2026, State Duma elections due to its alignment with the executive branch, extensive administrative resources, and advantages in the mixed-member proportional system that allocates half the 450 seats via single-member districts. Recent party conventions, finalized candidate lists featuring prominent figures such as Sergei Lavrov and Sergei Sobyanin, and the inclusion of war veterans have reinforced its organizational edge. Polls from WCIOM and FOM show United Russia leading with 42–52% support, well ahead of New People, while systemic opposition parties face registration hurdles and lower visibility. Trader consensus reflects these structural factors and the limited scope for other parties to surpass United Russia in total seats.
