Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Atlanta on September 5, 2026, call for mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 90s amid light northwest winds and heat indices reaching 105°F. Multiple models converge on a peak near 96–98°F, driven by above-normal temperatures persisting from early September and minimal cloud cover through afternoon. Slight thunderstorm chances later in the day introduce minor uncertainty in the exact maximum, as any localized cooling or timing shifts could tip readings between the closely matched 96–97°F and 98–99°F bins. Historical September averages near 86°F underscore the anomalous warmth supporting trader focus on these two outcomes.
