Incumbent Republican Joe Wilson secured his party's nomination with a decisive 74% in the June 2026 primary, facing minimal opposition from challengers Hamp Redmond and Sam Gibbons. The district's established Republican lean, reflected in Wilson's 2024 general election margin, underpins trader consensus favoring the GOP outcome at 85.5% implied probability. Democratic nominee Zyon Khalifa advanced through a June runoff but confronts structural headwinds in a central South Carolina seat spanning Columbia and Augusta suburbs. With the general election set for November 3, 2026, and no major recent shifts in polling or candidate dynamics, the market reflects limited upside for the Democratic Party at 14.5%. Other outcomes tied to specific candidates or third-party entries trade near even money amid low expected viability.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
