Johnny Olszewski holds a commanding position in Maryland’s 2nd congressional district race due to the area’s consistent Democratic lean, reflected in its D+10 partisan voting index and uniform “Solid Democratic” or “Safe Democratic” ratings from major forecasters. As the incumbent who secured 58 percent in 2024, Olszewski cruised through the June 2026 primary with 84.5 percent and maintains a substantial fundraising edge, with hundreds of thousands in cash on hand compared to challenger Dave Wallace’s minimal reserves. Wallace, a repeat Republican nominee, won his primary but faces structural headwinds in a district encompassing Baltimore County suburbs and portions of Baltimore City. Trader consensus at 95 percent for Olszewski aligns with these fundamentals, though late developments such as an unforeseen scandal, significant national political shift, or candidate health event could still influence the November outcome.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
