The district's strong Democratic lean, reflected in a Cook Partisan Voting Index around D+21 and consistent double-digit margins for Democratic candidates in recent cycles, anchors trader consensus on the party's nominee prevailing in the 2026 contest. The July 2026 special election to fill the vacancy left by the late Representative David Scott saw Democratic candidates capture the top two spots and advance to an August 25 runoff, while Republican contenders combined for under 14 percent of the vote. In the parallel November general election matchup, Democrat Jasmine Clark faces Republican Jonathan Chavez in a race rated Solid Democratic by nonpartisan analysts. Low Republican fundraising and organizational presence further reinforce the current pricing. A late scandal, health issue, or unusually depressed Democratic turnout could narrow the gap, though historical patterns in the Atlanta-area seat make such shifts improbable.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
