Incumbent Democrat Sharice Davids secured her party's nomination with over 83 percent in the August 4 primary, facing Republican Eric Jenkins, who won his primary with nearly 79 percent. The KS-03 district, covering Johnson County and parts of the Kansas City metro area, has favored Davids since her 2018 flip, with reelection margins in the low double digits, including 11 points in 2024. Cook Political Report rates the seat Solid Democratic, aligning with trader consensus reflecting incumbency advantage, district demographics, and absence of major recent shifts or competitive polling that would elevate Republican prospects ahead of the November general election.
