Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other sources project a high near 99–100°F for Austin on September 18 under sunny skies, light east-southeast winds, and minimal cloud cover, consistent with an ongoing late-summer heat wave that has already produced 14 days of 100°F+ readings this September. These conditions favor strong daytime heating and heat indices above 100°F, positioning the 98–99°F and 96–97°F bins as the dominant market outcomes given their alignment with the narrow forecast range. Historical averages near 90.5°F and a 100°F record underscore the elevated baseline, while the absence of an approaching cold front or significant moisture limits downside risk to lower bins and caps upside potential near 101°F. Updated model runs and official observations will determine final resolution.
