**Forecast consensus points to a high near 94–95°F under sunny skies for Houston on September 20, 2026.** Official National Weather Service guidance and multiple models show mid-90s highs driven by high pressure, light easterly to southerly winds, and a dry-air intrusion that has suppressed clouds and precipitation after recent moisture. This setup favors strong daytime heating, with heat indices potentially reaching 105°F due to humidity returning by the weekend. September climatology for Houston places average highs around 88–90°F, so current conditions sit above normal but well below record territory. The tightly clustered market-implied odds across the 84–101°F bins reflect model spread in exact peak temperature—small differences in boundary-layer moisture, wind direction, or afternoon mixing can shift the observed high by a degree or two. No major weather systems or fronts are expected to alter the pattern before resolution, though updated NHC or NWS model runs in the next 24–48 hours remain the key near-term catalysts.
