The 96% trader consensus on 33°C as Kuala Lumpur’s daily maximum on September 18 reflects official METMalaysia guidance of a 34°C forecast high offset by widespread afternoon thunderstorm development, which typically suppresses further warming through cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Midday observations reached 31–33°C under partly cloudy skies with humidity near 60–70% and light winds, aligning with September climatology for the Klang Valley where convective activity often peaks in the afternoon. Model consensus across ECMWF and GFS runs supports this outcome, though minor upward revisions remain possible if storms initiate later than expected or if localized heating exceeds projections before precipitation arrives.
