Recent National Weather Service and local forecasts indicate scattered thunderstorms over Denver on September 20, 2026, with daytime highs near 74°F followed by overnight lows centered around 48–49°F. This pattern stems from a passing frontal system that enhances cloud cover and wind, limiting radiational cooling while also introducing cooler northerly air masses. Historical September averages place the daily low near 47–48°F at Denver stations, making the current setup typical yet sensitive to exact storm timing and clearing skies. Model spreads create the near-even market split between 47°F or below versus 66°F or higher, as modest shifts in precipitation coverage or wind could push the minimum several degrees either way before resolution. Updated NWS guidance and local observations over the next 48 hours will clarify whether post-storm conditions favor enhanced cooling or retained warmth.
