The Republican nominee holds a strong advantage in Arizona’s 5th congressional district due to the seat’s consistent partisan lean and the outcome of the July 21 primaries. Former Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb secured the GOP nomination with Trump’s endorsement, overcoming a well-funded primary challenge from Daniel Keenan despite late allegations of misconduct. On the Democratic side, Elizabeth Lee emerged as the nominee. The East Valley district, which includes Gilbert and portions of Chandler and Mesa, has favored Republicans by double-digit margins in recent cycles, with the incumbent Republican winning 60% in 2024 before retiring to pursue the governorship. Traders reflect this structural edge plus the absence of competitive polling or major late developments that would narrow the gap before the November 3 general election.
