Democratic nominee Rebecca Cooke holds a clear edge in trader assessments for Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District ahead of the November 2026 general election, following her decisive primary victory on August 11 that sets up a rematch with incumbent Republican Derrick Van Orden. The district's narrow 2024 margin, where Van Orden prevailed by roughly three points, combined with a June 2026 poll showing Cooke ahead by four points, has shaped expectations. National midterm dynamics and Cooke's fundraising and name recognition in the competitive swing district further support the current consensus, though the race remains sensitive to broader electoral shifts and turnout patterns in this R-leaning but battleground seat.
