Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to overnight lows in the low-to-mid 60s for Chicago on September 19, with persistent cloud cover, widespread showers and thunderstorms, and southerly flow limiting radiative cooling. These conditions support the market's heaviest positioning on the 62-63 °F and 64-65 °F bins. The system’s arrival has already raised minimum temperatures several degrees above the late-September climatological average of 57 °F, while steering patterns and high dew points reduce the chance of a sharper drop. Updated model runs tonight and early-morning observations will be the next key inputs before the daily minimum is recorded.
