Official National Weather Service observations recorded a daily maximum of 85°F in Miami on August 29, 2026—five degrees below the 1991–2020 normal of 90°F—driving the market’s 100% consensus on the 84–85°F outcome. Increased cloud cover, easterly flow, and 0.62 inches of measured precipitation limited daytime heating compared with typical late-summer conditions. This outcome aligns with historical precedent for days featuring similar moisture and wind patterns. Only an unlikely post-event revision of the official maximum by NWS Miami or a redefinition of the measurement station would alter resolution.
