The special election to fill Georgia’s 14th congressional district vacancy after the January 2026 resignation features a nonpartisan “jungle” primary on a single March 10 ballot in a district that has consistently delivered large Republican margins. A fragmented field of roughly 17 candidates, with Republican votes split among more than a dozen contenders while Democratic support concentrated on one, created uncertainty about whether any individual could reach the 50 percent threshold required for an outright win. Trader pricing at 81.5 percent for an outright winner in the first round reflects the strong underlying partisan tilt, historical patterns in similar special elections, and expectations that a leading Republican could consolidate enough support to avoid a runoff under state rules. Recent endorsements and campaign positioning further shaped assessments of vote consolidation ahead of the contest.
