Democratic nominee Rebecca Bennett holds a commanding position in New Jersey’s 7th congressional district ahead of the November 3 general election, with traders assigning an 81.5% probability of a Democratic win. The swing district, which favored Republicans by a narrow margin in 2024, shifted toward Bennett after she secured the Democratic nomination in the June 2 primary with nearly 46% of the vote. Incumbent Republican Thomas Kean Jr., unopposed in his primary, faces headwinds from earlier health-related absences that depressed his favorability ratings, combined with polling showing Bennett ahead by 4 points overall and larger margins among independents. Cook Political Report and other analysts rate the race as a toss-up or lean Democratic, consistent with current market pricing driven by these district fundamentals and candidate positioning.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
