Persistent high-pressure systems and clear skies across North Texas produced minimal overnight radiational cooling on August 29, 2026, yielding an official minimum temperature of 80–81°F at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field. Southerly flow and elevated dew points near 67°F further limited temperature drops, consistent with climatological norms for late August where average lows hover around 75–77°F. National Weather Service observations confirm the narrow diurnal range under these conditions. An unforecasted nocturnal thunderstorm or thicker low-level cloud deck could have enhanced cooling and shifted the outcome, though model consensus and real-time data showed no such development.
