Persistent high pressure and southerly flow are sustaining above-average temperatures across central Texas, with National Weather Service and model guidance converging on highs of 97–101 °F for Austin on September 1. Sunny skies, light winds, and elevated heat indices near 105 °F reflect the lack of a cooling front or significant moisture, consistent with the ongoing warm pattern after one of Austin’s hottest Augusts on record. Historical climatology shows early-September normals near 94 °F, so the current setup favors the market’s leading 98–99 °F and 100–101 °F bins. Updated NWS point forecasts and short-range model runs in the next 24–48 hours will refine these probabilities ahead of the day’s maximum reading.
