The official National Weather Service observation at San Francisco International Airport recorded a daily maximum of 71°F on August 29, 2026, aligning precisely with the market's 70-71°F outcome at full implied probability. Persistent marine layer stratus and strong onshore flow from the cool California Current kept coastal waters near 55–58°F, suppressing inland heating and yielding temperatures 3°F below the 1991–2020 normal of 74°F. Hourly METAR data showed the peak at 2:06 PM under partly cloudy to hazy conditions with moderate westerly winds, consistent with typical late-summer climatology that rarely exceeds 75°F without offshore flow or heat wave patterns. With the data now finalized and no revisions anticipated before the next reporting cycle, only an unforeseen station correction or boundary redefinition could alter resolution, though historical precedent indicates such changes are exceedingly rare.
