In the Louis-Hébert riding, trader odds reflect a close contest between CAQ candidate Marc-Antoine Bernier and PQ candidate Chloé Fauchon, with other contenders trailing notably. The seat, vacated by longtime CAQ MNA Geneviève Guilbault, sits in the competitive Capitale-Nationale region where recent provincial polls show the PQ, CAQ, and PCQ running within a narrow band. Bernier, a local journalist named in late August, and Fauchon, an environmental lawyer announced earlier, enter a short campaign that began after the writ dropped on August 27 for the October 5 vote. Regional three-way dynamics, combined with the new electoral map and undecided voters, sustain the tight positioning, while later developments such as candidate debates or turnout shifts in Quebec City suburbs could widen margins before nomination closes on September 17.
