Recent National Weather Service and model guidance from NOAA point to a high of 74–77°F in New York City on September 6, driven by northeasterly flow advecting cooler maritime air and light cloud cover or drizzle that limits daytime heating. This aligns with the market-implied odds favoring 76–77°F at 52% and 74–75°F at 30%, well below the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 79.5°F. Recent upstream observations show a stable post-frontal environment following early September variability, with no strong ridging or southerly flow to support higher readings. Traders are weighting the tight consensus among short-range models, though final NWS verification near Central Park remains the resolution standard.
