The closely contested communal election on October 9–10, 2026, for Plzeň city council keeps implied probabilities tight among multiple candidates, as the mayor is selected afterward through coalition negotiations rather than direct vote. Incumbent Roman Zarzycký (ANO) leads his party’s list while defending the current governing coalition of ANO, Piráti, STAN, and PRO Plzeň, which holds a majority; challengers include Pavel Bosák (Piráti), Aleš Tolar (STAN), Lukáš Hegner (ODS), Tomáš Morávek (PRO Plzeň), and Michal Vozobule in a new TOP 09–aligned grouping. Recent finalization of thirteen candidate lists and the launch of campaigns focused on housing, transport infrastructure, and public spaces have not produced decisive shifts, leaving trader consensus balanced ahead of potential late developments in turnout or alliance talks.
