Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 2 point to overnight lows in the upper 70s, with southerly flow, high dew points near 75°F, and scattered thunderstorms limiting clear-sky radiative cooling. These conditions align with the market’s leading 78-79°F bin at 62% implied probability, while nearby 76-77°F and 80-81°F outcomes capture residual forecast spread. Persistent late-summer warmth and above-average sea-surface temperatures in the western Gulf sustain the elevated baseline, though any earlier-than-expected frontal passage or heavier nocturnal convection could nudge the minimum a degree or two lower before resolution.
