Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Latest National Weather Service and global model ensembles point to a highest temperature in New York City on August 25 most likely falling in the upper 70s, driven by a moderating air mass with moderate southwest flow, partial cloud cover, and dew points in the mid-60s that limit daytime heating. Historical Central Park data show average late-August highs near 81–83 °F, so the current setup reflects a slightly cooler-than-normal pattern consistent with the 33–40 % probability of below-average temperatures issued by the Climate Prediction Center for late August. Model spread centers on whether afternoon mixing or brief sun breaks can push readings into the low 80s or keep them capped near 78–79 °F, creating the tight market split between the two leading brackets. Forecasters will issue updated guidance with the 00Z and 12Z model cycles tomorrow, when boundary-layer details and any convective development become clearer.
