Recent short-range forecasts from NOAA-aligned models and local observations indicate a high near 82°F for downtown Los Angeles on September 2 under sunny conditions with moderate southwest winds, driven by persistent high pressure and limited marine-layer influence. This places the outcome above the 1991–2020 climatological average of roughly 77°F, though ensemble spread and potential strengthening of onshore flow introduce uncertainty that keeps 72–73°F and 76–77°F bins nearly tied at 48.7% and 47.5% implied probability. Traders are weighting the balance between model consensus on clear skies versus historical variability in early-September coastal cooling, with resolution hinging on the final NWS verification of the daily maximum.
