The Taschereau riding remains highly competitive ahead of the October 5 Quebec general election, with incumbent Étienne Grandmont of Québec solidaire facing new Parti québécois candidate Christian Savard after Vincent Marissal’s rapid withdrawal over ethics concerns involving parliamentary housing allowances. Recent projections show QS holding a modest edge in this left-leaning Quebec City district, but vote splitting among the Parti libéral’s Farnell Morisset, Coalition avenir Québec’s Brigitte Martin, and the Parti conservateur’s Eliot Estévez-Verville keeps the outcome fluid. Trader pricing reflects this uncertainty, with multiple options clustered near even odds and no single contender establishing clear separation. Local priorities such as housing affordability, homelessness, and mobility, alongside province-wide polling trends favoring the PQ, could shift momentum depending on candidate visibility and turnout in the final weeks.
