Recent polls ahead of Sweden’s September 13, 2026, general election show the centre-left bloc anchored by Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democrats holding a roughly 4–10 point lead over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s right-wing Tidö coalition of Moderates, Christian Democrats, Liberals, and Sweden Democrats. This sustained advantage in voting intention has driven trader consensus toward Andersson as the next prime minister, reflecting expectations that her party will form the next government. No major events in the final weeks have narrowed the gap enough to shift bloc projections, leaving limited scope for the incumbent coalition to retain power and for Kristersson or Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson to emerge as prime minister. The market prices embed the view that the election outcome will determine the result with high probability.
