Recent observations at Houston Intercontinental reached 103°F on August 22 and remained elevated into the 23rd under minimal cloud cover and low moisture, allowing strong daytime insolation above the August climatological average of ~95°F. Model consensus shows limited spread, with any tropical moisture or storm development through the 23–25 window remaining the main variable that could cap temperatures slightly lower. Trader sentiment, reflected in the 51.5% implied probability for 98–99°F and 34.5% for 96–97°F, aligns closely with these official guidance values while accounting for typical forecast uncertainty and station-specific measurement differences. Fresh model runs and any updates to the NHC or local NWS briefings on steering patterns or moisture return will serve as the next key catalysts before resolution.
