Persistent rain and extensive cloud cover from a southerly flow of marine air are suppressing Seattle's high temperature on September 13, 2026, to forecast levels near 60°F according to National Weather Service guidance and multiple model runs. This setup contrasts with the 71°F climatological average high, as thick stratiform clouds limit solar heating while steady precipitation and moderate southerly winds enhance evaporative cooling and prevent boundary-layer warming. Recent model consensus shows minimal spread around this outcome, with only slight potential for brief afternoon breaks to reach 62–63°F if clearing occurs earlier than expected. Official observations through midday confirm the cool, saturated airmass remains in place, supporting the market's strong emphasis on the 60–61°F bin as the most probable resolution.
