Official temperature measurements from New York City stations, including the National Weather Service site in Central Park, recorded a daily maximum of 78-79°F on September 16, locking in the market's near-certain outcome. This reading aligns with regional surface observations and model analyses showing stable high-pressure influence with limited daytime heating under partly cloudy skies and moderate humidity. Historical September climatology for the area supports highs in this range as typical rather than extreme. Revisions remain possible only if post-processing quality checks or station instrumentation audits alter the final archived value, though such adjustments are infrequent for daily maxima once initial data are validated.
