Republican Tim Moore holds a commanding position in North Carolina's 14th Congressional District heading into the November 2026 general election. The seat carries an R+8 Cook Partisan Voting Index following mid-decade redistricting that shifted boundaries toward stronger Republican territory in the western Piedmont, including Gaston, Cleveland, and Rutherford counties. Moore, the former long-serving state House speaker first elected to Congress in 2024, defeated a primary challenger by an 83-17 margin, while Democrat Lakesha Womack advanced from her primary. Available polling from March shows Moore ahead by 8 points, consistent with the district's structural advantages and limited Democratic infrastructure. All major forecasters rate the race Solid or Safe Republican, reflecting the partisan lean and incumbent strength.
