Recent National Weather Service forecasts highlight a marine layer with morning low clouds and fog clearing to sunny conditions across Los Angeles on August 26, supporting highs in the lower to mid-80s near the coast while allowing stronger heating farther inland amid the ongoing Southern California heat wave. Official model consensus points to afternoon temperatures moderated by southwest winds around 15 mph and typical August climatology near 77–85°F, creating tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around the 82–87°F bins as traders weigh coastal versus broader county measurement criteria. The extreme heat warning through midweek adds upside potential if the inversion layer weakens, though persistent onshore flow introduces downside risk for coastal stations. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon observations tomorrow will likely refine these outcomes before resolution.
