Recent Brazilian inflation data showing moderation, including a subdued July IPCA-15 reading, combined with the Copom's fourth consecutive 25-basis-point Selic cut to 14.00% in August, underpin the near-even market-implied odds of 47% for no change versus a further 25-basis-point reduction in November. Traders weigh the central bank's lowered 2026 inflation projections and cooling economic signals against still-elevated long-term expectations and a resilient labor market, which support a cautious, data-dependent approach. Upcoming September and October meetings, plus fresh CPI and activity releases, represent key swing factors that could shift the balance toward pausing or extending the easing cycle.

Increases or decreases of less than 25 bps will be rounded to 25 bps (e.g. an increase or decrease of 10 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 25 bps). Increases or decreases of greater than 25 bps will be rounded to the nearest 25 bps and will be rounded away from 0 in cases of equidistance (e.g., an increase or decrease of 37.5 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 50 bps).
