**Official National Weather Service forecasts for New York City on September 5 project a daytime high near 81°F followed by an overnight low in the mid-60s under northwesterly flow and partly cloudy skies, consistent with a mild early-September air mass and dew points near 60°F that moderate radiative cooling.** Recent observations from LaGuardia and Central Park show prior overnight lows of 67–69°F, supporting trader consensus around 68–73°F as the most probable range for the daily minimum. Key variables include the timing and strength of any cloud cover or wind shifts that could limit the drop below 68°F, with model guidance and historical climatology for early September reinforcing this band. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs will provide further clarity on whether cooler boundary-layer conditions materialize.
