Persistent southwest monsoon (habagat) activity has driven widespread cloud cover, high humidity, and frequent thunderstorms across Metro Manila on September 5, 2026, limiting solar heating and capping daytime maxima near 29°C according to PAGASA and multiple forecast models. This aligns with historical September baselines under similar monsoon regimes and explains the 99.7% market-implied probability for 29°C as the official high at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Trader consensus reflects skin-in-the-game assessment of these conditions, with minimal odds on 30°C or higher. Brief clearing or reduced rainfall intensity could realistically allow temperatures to reach 30°C, while stronger convective activity might hold the peak at 28°C.
