Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for New York City shows persistent humidity, cloud cover, and southeasterly flow tied to an approaching frontal system, limiting overnight radiational cooling and supporting minimum temperatures around 70–72°F on September 2. These conditions, with elevated dew points and a 60–70% chance of showers or thunderstorms, favor the market’s leading outcomes in the 68–71°F range as traders weigh forecast consensus against typical early-September climatology near 65°F. Model spreads remain modest but introduce uncertainty around exact clearing timing, while historical analogs with similar warm, moist setups rarely drop below 67°F. Updated NHC and local forecast discussions over the next 48 hours will likely refine these probabilities ahead of resolution.
